We meet so many people in life. We talk, share, laugh, and trust them with pieces of our hearts. But here’s the truth—we never really know who our people are. It’s confusing, I know. I’m confused too. That’s the point.

We get disappointed by people, again and again. For some, it happens rarely. For me, it feels like it happens all the time. That’s why I stopped trusting people… at least in my personal life.

But here’s the irony—my profession forces me to trust people. I connect with a lot of professionals, and yet, I never get disappointed. Want to know why?

In our professional life, we accept rejection. It’s part of the game. We shake it off and move on. But in our personal life? Rejection terrifies us. It’s different. It hurts. It feels like it breaks something inside us.

And maybe that’s why we hold on to expectations. We want people to feel the same way we feel. But they don’t. And it’s okay. Not everyone will.

Today is Valentine’s Day, a day that reminds us of love and feelings. So here’s what I want to tell you—

Yes, we get hurt. Yes, it feels unfair. But don’t let it close your heart. Feel everything deeply. Love fearlessly. Trust again. Because somewhere out there, you will find the people who won’t disappoint you.
